Episode 4 - The Fine Points of the Law

PCX reviews Verotika #14
"Is it against the law in any state to marry a dead person?"
"Well..."
"I mean, if they're still walking around?"
"Maybe it would be legal to marry a dead person but you couldn't actually fuck them, because that would violate Abuse of Corpse laws?"

I recently picked up a couple of issues of Bob Fingerman's "Minimum Wage" in the quarter bin.
In one of the issues, the main character goes to a comic con to promote some old erotic comics he worked on. There, he runs across a very Danzig
like character. Glen Danzig used to be in the rock band the Misfits and makes very dark metal music. I'd heard he'd gotten into the comic business, doing horror-porn comics.

Bob Fingerman lampooned Danzig's forays into comics in that issue of Minimum Wage. I've wondered about that comic, what it was like.

I found out that Verotika is the Danzig book. TCM said he didn't know where you'd find Verotika nowadays.. When searching for the cover to this Verotika issue, I found them all displayed on Danzig's website, presumably for sale. ( But I aint interested in investigating it further)

I'd still probably rather read any random Verotik title than be subjected to a lot of the superhero stuff from that same era. This is the nineties we're talking about, after all...!

I agree about 90s comics...

The only comics I buy are in the quarter bin. Won't pay any more than 25 cents for a comic. (Once I find out where to find out more about..ahem.."filesharing", I probably won't even do that anymore)

I saw a cool looking Daredevil in
20 cent bin a couple of weeks ago. Had stiltman in it. And I usually can't say no to Stilt Man. But it was from the late 90s. It had that "90s" feel to it. I couldn't bring myself to buy it. And it was
only 20 cents.

But I bought the 80s Daredevil issue with the Beyonder in it (where Bee tries to retain Matt Murdock's services to legally obtain the earth!?) before I touch that 90s shit.

re: file sharing/"community comics" -

If you really want to save your quarters, you'll need these:

http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/dcplusplus/DCPlusPlus-0.698.exe?download

...which is the DC++ program, for downloading comics; and...

http://cdisplay.techknight.com/setup.zip

...which is the CDisplay program, for reading the comics you've downloaded.

Hey, remember Daredevil's 90s armor-looking costume?

Sigh.

No wonder there was a point I was pretty much down to buying just Sandman and Love and Rockets.

PCX: The Classics Tour.

DMP became TCM this episode, how could I have forgotten.

I forgotten "The Deadair of Shame", or did that leave with MCT?

90's was a weird time for me to be collecting. I was collecting too many Image comic. I knew it was bad, but I thought I was just missing something because all my friends were reading the stuff.
