Episode 91 - "Oh, now THIS is just stupid."

PCX reviews Hellboy V5: Conqueror Worm
(part 4 of 4)

Finally it's over!
Well I hope that wasn't anyone's reaction. I think we were thoroughly entertaining.
Unlike Starhawk! There's only so much ranting you can listen to.

Not that I'm biased or anything, but yeah, we were pretty awesome. Though I guess I shouldn't mention the upcoming Starhawk ten-parter, huh?

Just kidding.

Or am I?

Australia couldn't afford any evil nazi scientists, they barely could affoed hiring an evil nazi janitor after the war.

Meerkat Manor

You drew a picture of Hellboy taking that thing out of his pocket? I didn't know you did porn.

Check the BPRD orientation manual, "No Sex with HellBoy", something about boiling hot, invasive, demon sperm.

Hey, you put the Hellboy interview in at the end! I love those ads.

Why do I have to wait until August to see it? That's not fair, although I guess it gives the movie more a chance rather than a week before Dark Knight.

Those baby meerkats look like the spawn of Gollum.

Courtney, if you really can't wait, the new Hellboy movie is online; just search for "video codecs" via the file sharing site of your choice so you'll be able to watch it (since I know you've had trouble with .avi files.) Also, download a good antivirus program beforehand, just in case.

Oh Kali, please don't let it suck.

Oh Hell no, I aint watching Hellboy on a crappy computer screen.
I've got to help it out in the box office.
I've given money to Dark Knight, I've given money to Hancock, Hellboy deserves the same.

Okay so I've already bought shit-loads of merchandise and technically speaking none of that money was mine that went into paying for those tickets...But yeah...

Oh and I saw the Watchmen trailer.

Some things should be made into movies but Alan Moore's stories are not one of them.
Then again, it was the V for Vendetta movie that made him known to me.

They made it into this stereotypical, flashy action superhero movie. That's not what Watchmen is about. If anything it's a film noir with a bizarre secondary colour palette.

I don't think this movie would appeal to, or even make any sense to the general audience. And fans won't like it because Watchmen is sacred.

Zack Snyder is a good director and 300 was a good movie mostly due to Frank Miller's straight forward way of story telling.

Oh third post in a row, I'm such a spammer!
Anyway, I found this Bruce Timm comic. It's hot, it's like he made it just for me!:

What's wrong with the trailer? As far as I could see every scene was directly out of the comic series. They just better, by Zeus, get the story part of the series right. I didn't see a newstand!

Calm down. Here is the newstand:

Why do people get upset when "Hollywood" makes movies from "sacred" books? If the movie is horrible, the book still exists.

I don't know, that's just what Alan Moore told me to do. Hate all adaptations of his stories.

Yeah he does cause most of what he has done is owned by Warners and don't believe their image, it's not a cute cuddly smart alec bunny rabbit but a soulless machine bent on making profits no matter what.

But not the less this soulless machine can work for our benefit if it's made to understand that the fans respect the artist and their work. That's partly the reason there has never been a Watchmen part 2. Cause a Morrisonless part 2 would have failed.

I'll be okay with the Watchmen movie if it's only half as good as the comic because frankly, that's about the best we can expect.

Someone filming that killer story that Courtney linked to, on the other hand? Now, that I'd actually look forward to.

Hey man, where's the next podcast?
Also, I have decided that Trenchcoat looks like his avatar because I'm too lazy to come up with any other mental image.

This is one of those infamous "skip weeks" for PCX but as chance would have it, I'm co-hosting the new THOOM! ep. that Tim just put up (like any show I'm on doesn't doesn't turn into a de facto episode of Podcast X anyway!)

Everyone but Courtney, 'cause she's too young to listen to it:

I should probably also mention that Vixen has a new Podcast XXX episode up for Summer. Something about nuns and dick demons or some such nonsense.

For those who care, the THOOM! ep. I'm referring to is #29 (the Ant-Man show, in which Tim for some reason takes offense at my endorsement of child sex tours.)

Technically, I'm in #30 (the Dark Knight show) too, but only in what they call in the film biz "archival footage".

PCX: The Classics Tour.

Why isn't inspiring furries a good thing? From what I understand they like sex.

Lion King is Kimba the White Lion.

History shows there weren't Jewish slaves who built the pyramids. It's Jewish torture/guilt porn. look how well they took over the "Holocaust", only about 1/3 of the victims were Jews but they've forgotten everyone else. It's all about the "Jewy me."

Did you win the contest, Courtney?

Benjamin Franklin creating the lightning rod to protect buildings from lightning strikes set of a debate whether humans should interfere in divine providence. After all what's more god-like that lightning from the heavens?

People do enjoy smoking, you TCM are just stating why you would smoke, to annoy people.

Another PSA from TCM, "Everyone out there stop smoking."

But pulp adventures did have romance, more along the "love em n leave em", but it's in there. The way sex is usually portrayed in Hellboy could lead to Wertham's gay pedo-Batman. "So you like exploring dark caves with young men?"
