Episode 81 - "I can be as nasty as I want!"

PCX reviews Tank Girl V1
(part 1 of 2)

I always liked Tankgirl, despite it not making alot of sense. Seems like the perfect comic for this podcast.

About witches-they actually burned some really pretty women on charges of witchcraft because they cause wicked thoughts to enter men's minds and get hard ons and wet dreams. Also women would accuse pretty ones just cause they knew their husbands or boyfriends were attractive to them. The thought of being able to bind witches was cause they were jailed by "good" people with the "good" book and they needed their potions and/or familiars to do stuff anyway.

Dr Bombay was gay, wasnt he? I think almost all the warlocks were gay, that's why Samantha was attracted to the bigotted and STRAIGHT, Darrin. that's the only reason I can see a gorgeous witch like Sam going with a sniveling wifebeater like Darrin. I thought it was so strange that he would insult witches like that but have a witch as his wife and not use her powers unless he needed something done. Sorta like a white guy marrying a black female and having her lighten her skin. And telling her to never have anything to do with her black family and friends. Hide them from the neighbors.

A weapon to turn your blood into mercury? Isn't that called fish?

Peter Rios? Which one is commenting on your podcast? The Preacher or the Senator from Arizona?

Thought Courtney did great, despite the Skype warbling sound.

This podcast has taught me alot. Not to talk so fast, think about what I'm going to say before I say it, but try to respond to my co-hosts a little faster and with better comments.
And I say awesome too much.

Do you normally edit episodes like that? Or are the cuts just obvious to me because I know exactly how th discussion actually went?
And we kept cutting each other off! Screw you Skype!

I have discovered that I sound like Paul Dini's Little Rashy and Homer Simpson.

Apparently the special effects in Tank Girl were done by Stan Winston. No wonder they were so good.
And thanks XF!

Courtney, "think about what I'm going to say before I say it", why? Noone else does on this show.

Homer Simpson? nah, listening past the Skype warbling, you have hints of the saucy aussie.

By the way, anyone from PCX appearing at this weekend's NY Comicon?

Well I broke my usual rule (like anything else is new) and listened to the 1st part b4 both were out cause I knew it would be Courtney's virgin podcast.

I'd like to say you did a good job and Tank Girl was definitely a good pick. But I do have do agree with xantesfire there... 'thinking about what you're going to say before you say it' , on this podcast it's sort of pointless. And I dare say it could be productive, which would be counter-productive in the long run because then we'd miss out on all those fun little tangents.

XantesFire,

That'd yet another Peter Rios - a podcaster who accused me of, and I quote again, "shameless self-promotion" for daring to link here to Podcast X (gasp!) in an innocuous post I'd put up on their sacred forum.

Courtney,

Damn, you're hard on yourself! Hearing it back, I thought this one came off way better than I expected it to; and yeah, every episode gets edited/tightened up to varying degrees; this one mostly to work around the friggin' Skype issues.

And your voice sounds a lot closer to maybe Demi Moore than Homer Simpson! Although strangely, I now wanna hear what Homer would sound like with an Australian accent.

satanicmuffin,

Yeah really, I can't even imagine what CC regrets having said, given some of the stuff the rest of us have put out there!

I always am, there's always room for improvement. Plus I did drama classes and they make you evaluate your performances.

But apparently I did okay, that's nice to know.

Demi Moore, eh? That's a step up from Homer I guess.

I heard Homer do an Australian accent when Dan Castelanetta was interviewed by Australia's Hamish and Andy.
I think you could probably find that way back in the archives on their site.

I want to record this Hellboy episode so badly and we're never online at the same time. Are we only going to do the first chapter of the comic?

XantesFire,

I forgot to answer your NYC con question the other day, so:

I might've gone, but turns out I can't get off work anyhow.

I think Trekkie's undecided.

And I can pretty much guess Starhawk's response ("Uh...no. I have a life.")

Courtney,

I'll e-mail you; and we can definitely do the whole comic (since unlike the Tank Girl TPB, it's all one big story anyway so it only makes sense) - Vixen and I did that 200+ page Monster book in less than 90 minutes, so as long as 'hawk doesn't Skype in I don't think we're looking at another four-parter.

Courtney-What comic will be analyed on this 8part trip you speak of?

T Mafia, what's Monster?

Don't panic, XF: I'm pretty sure Courtney's just thinking that the two of us reviewing a whole collection might wind up being another lonnng multi-parter; but given that CC's not as long-winded or as given to "speechifying" as Starhawk, the world is probably safe. Monster was PCX's lone (so far) manga review, way back in #36 (aka "Pedocast X".)

Oh yeah, forgot about that one. But seriously some manga barely have any words. Just a bunch of expressions and screaming for a few pages. Could even Starhawk have extended it?

Considering how much time he spent on that one measly panel(!) in the Supergirl comic...

PCX: The Classics Tour.

What do you mean pink and blue don't go together?

Like TCM never heard, "Hold on my mom's coming."

Snake meat taste like tangy chicken.

Maybe they aren't really kangaroos, maybe the Australian people have such a hate for the Aborigines that they can't bear to see a white girl and an abo have sex, even in a comic.

"As you do." I think even Courtney realizes this and is okay with killing abos.

Thing about the Transformer movies is you can't tell who's who. And they are made of too many little pieces.

I like to hear about the monthlies.

Pink 5 is a great webseries.

Pigs in Space wasn't the first to bust the fourth wall I know I've seen it done on some 60's Hanna Barbara.

1st comment by Jordan Coombs.

What? No rape this episode?

By the way TCM, any chance of this years Comic con?
